Life goes fast! In our modern world, we experience constant pulls for our time, focus, bandwidth & energy. It’s easy to feel like we’re leaving parts of ourselves behind and are unsure of our direction. The more we feel fragmented, the harder it is to steer forward with clarity. Resilience Bodyworks is about interrupting this experience and spending some time in a different mode.
I take a practical approach to using massage & yoga as tools to help shift lack of ease physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually. Explore options for how to move, breathe, think, feel & listen in ways that feel better! Listen with me to your experience of being in your body & being in the world. See what comes through when you quiet down on all levels. Come home to yourself so you can sense what needs to happen next.
I believe we’re most effective when we put ourselves in a position to do what we do from a place of wholeness, peace & groundedness. It’s a lifelong journey of exploration & discovery!
Each session is individualized & steered according to your needs; there are so many ways we can approach this work! I’d love to be your accomplice!
Relax & tune in! Massage is an incredible tool for positively affecting your nervous system – as in the way you relate to your body, movement, breath, pain, restriction, thoughts & feelings. My signature style has evolved (& simplified) over my 15 years of experience. While I’ve learned from many sources and incorporate an array of tools/modalities, my work is best described as Myofascial Swedish & Deep Tissue – with range-of-motion and home care recommendations included. Specialties include pain management, stress management, movement restrictions, headaches & migraines, depression, anxiety & trauma.
Be curious! What yoga-based movement makes sense to you as a regular part of your life? How will establishing & maintaining your baseline of full spectrum movement-with-breath change everything? Less pain, less stress, more comfort in your body, more freedom-of-movement, more confidence, fuller breath, steadier inner listening & increased clarity? What’s possible?
I’ll work with you to establish a personalized baseline of movement-with-breath that makes sense to you & that you can build into your daily routine. If you want to make it more complex from there, you can! The options for play, exploration & growth beyond your baseline are endless – but you need a solid starting point or it’ll just feel random & chaotic.
If you’re a beginner, you’ll learn the basic building blocks of a personal yoga practice: movement, breath, transitions, intent, safety guidance, organization & sequencing. The invitation is for you to play & experiment with how to put these building blocks together in a way that makes sense for you – and to track what you know & the time you spend. Start with 10-15 minutes on most days, and let it develop & refine from there. Play, explore, be creative, learn from both yourself and others! Let your personal yoga/movement practice evolve into a physical act of inner listening & a tool for navigating life’s complexities.
Come get your massage, but pair it with learning that will likely help you feel much better between your massage sessions and/or allow you to space your massage sessions farther apart (depending on your priorities). Learn to care for your own body: how to nurture it, free it up and hold less tension. Learn how to reset your nervous system, breathe more fully & move more easily. Typically, we'll spend roughly 30 minutes working with movement and breath before your 60 or 90 minute massage -- but the time balance can shift a bit according to your needs. You'll get handouts and guidance about what to do on your own, should you choose to make your learning part of your daily routine. (There's no pressure or obligation to work with it on your own, but over time it may simply make sense to do so. We train our bodies how to move & breathe over time!)
In order to ensure the smooth operation & longevity of Resilience Bodyworks, please adhere to the following policies:
Any cancellation less than 24 hours in advance will result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the service booked. (This fee will be waived if you send someone in your place, for the session of their choice, funded either by them or by you.)
If you no show at the time of your appointment, you will owe the amount of the service booked. If you don’t arrive and don’t contact me within 10 minutes of the session start time, you will be considered a no-show. (If I hear from you within 10 minutes of start time, I’ll wait for you!)
Exceptions will be made for illness/true emergencies as long as it’s not a recurring problem and you let me know in advance. Please don’t come when you have a fever, or are actively sick with any potentially contagious illness. I don’t want your illness, and don’t want to risk spreading it to other clients. When you’re sick, please honor the 24 hour advance notice cancellation policy to the best of your abilities. This allows others to make use of the session.
Any cancellation fees will be due before, or at the time of, your next session.
By scheduling with me, you are indicating that you agree to these policies. Thank you!
